Wing Chun was created by Yan Wing Chun in Fujian, China. Since Yan is a woman, Wing Chun aims to protect herself under any circumstances. Therefore, self-defense is the core of our training – ability to perceive crises, counterattack and defuse attacks, pay attention to the “tension” of the body and maintain calmness – “be water” as Bruce Lee says.

Cheung Yung Wing Chun focuses on the cultivation of the mind and nature, and the integration of mind-body-spirit. Through our system’s training, our mind-body-spirit connection can be established or “re-established”. Over time this connection becomes our self-identity and self-confidence. Via our training, we encourage our students to believe in ourselves, achieve any goal and nothing is impossible – be fearless and be humble!

Sheng Qi Restoration is the Wing Chun’s internal qi gong exercise. Via breathing and mind-body attention practice to direct qi and blood flow along the acupoints, tendons, muscles and organs for revitalizing and restoring bodily conditions to their earlier fitness. It focuses on strengthening the micro-muscles and tendons, as well as posture correction to provide a strong foundation for speed, strength and mind-body connection. Sheng Qi is the fountain of youth according to Chinese Medicine, and practicing this qi gong style is touted to rejuvenate the body to its youthful health status.
